Nora Ephron felt bad about her neck---but what about we men? What do we feel bad about as we age?
Well here's a riotous hush hush tell all book written just for you ladies about what we severely neurotic men are actually going through as we age written by one of Hollywood's top sitcom writers David Steven Simon (Mad About You, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sister, Sister, Full House, The Wayans, Hearts Afire and not The Wire or Treme. I have more hair.)
Why do I Look Like Shelley Winters? A middle aged man exposes himself to the ladies eBook David Simon
David Simon has had a remarkable career writing clever things for other people to say. Now he turns his attention to his own state in life--getting older--and he does it with the same deft wit and sharp timing that have made his scripts so good. It's a rare page that doesn't have a laugh on every line (and on those pages he makes up for it by doubling up...), and he faces the passage of time with wry, self-deprecating humor that is the hallmark of a warm and wonderful soul. And then there are the great moments of keen observation. This is my favorite:Musicians have this wonderful word: "play." They play music. They don't work music. They play. Let's consider that. Let's consider playing at life exactly the same way that a musician plays music. You know what you'll discover? That everything will be new, exciting and forever different.
Such a lovely insight! You'll laugh a lot reading this book, but you'll also be caught up by its humanity, and the wonderful sense that you're walking the road with a boon companion.

Why do I Look Like Shelley Winters? A middle aged man exposes himself to the ladies eBook David Simon Reviews
Being a man of the featured age group, I found this to be a hysterical description of our "irrational" behaviors. (but are they?) Kind of helps keep us guys focused. We may have thought about some of these, but it's really funny to have it laid out. Great read.
Hilarious. It's nice to know there are men that are willing to discuss how ridiculous we get as we get older. Or maybe we were always ridiculous. A fun read! Men, you'll see a lot of yourselves in this.
David hasn't lost his touch! Laugh your way thru David's writings. Hilarious look at life from an aging man's perspective..great read!
Laughed hard & out loud, more, more. Will be looking at males differently. Not too surprised at insecurities, thanks for confirming my suspicions!
All this time, I've been hoping for and looking forward to a long life ahead of me. No more. Just kidding. But this book is hilarious. I especially enjoyed the look back at childhood, and the little hints of Hollywood stories. Great stuff.
Very funny. Good to know that males are equally vain and self-conscious about the aging thing. And, yes, I knew the author in his teen years, and yes, he did resemble Paul. No lie!
David Simon, writer of some of the funniest bits of comedy of the last several decades on TV takes up the task of explaining the middle aged man's psyche to the unsuspecting female population in this chuckle-a-moment book. The best comedy works because it is honest, and Simon's over-sharing and telling it like it is, or, in the case of us slightly younger folks, like it will be. And no artificial laugh track required, you'll provide your own.
